Christmas

We had a wonderful holiday here at our house. We all got spoiled and enjoyed every minute of it. We celebrated on Christmas Eve at my parents house so that Charyn could be there. Parker hadn't had a nap all day and finally fell asleep at 6 in the evening. I didn't want him sleeping long because then he wouldn't sleep thru the night. When we woke him up to open presents he was not a happy boy. It took him a while unwrapping a few presents to finally wake up. I think both Matt and I got everything and more that was on our Christmas lists.
On Christmas day we opened some gifts from "Santa" and enjoyed a brunch at my parents house. After that we went to Matt's mom's house for a little while and visited with her. Then we went to Matt's aunt's house and all his cousins and aunts and uncles were there. We do an annual white elephant gift exchange. You are supposed to bring a gift for everyone praticipating. So for us 1 girl gift and 1 boy gift (The kids do their own exchange drawing names). I thought it would be hilarious to regift the present Matt ended up with last year, a Chia Pet. There were a few hot items that kept on getting passed around, but when the Chia Pet got opened, no one wanted to trade with that. It was pretty funny. After a great time there we went to Matt's dad and stepmom's house and yet a again got spoiled. We sure had a great time spending the day with family and loved ones. It is such a fun time of year to really celebrate what is important in our lives!!!

It's a girl!!!!!

We went to the doctor a few weeks ago and got some wonderful news!!! We are having baby girl!! I am so excited I can hardly stand it. I was starting to feel a little out numbered around here and now this baby will even things out! I can't wait to find some cute girly things with lace and ruffles and flowers. It will be totally different than having a boy and I am excited that we will get to experience both. I think Matt is pretty excited too, but of course he doesn't show it like I do.
We are still busy getting last minute things ready for Christmas. I can't believe it is only a week away. I am can't wait to be together as a family and to celebrate this wonderful time of year together. Parker will have a great time and can say HoHOHo when we talk about Santa Clause. I am still waiting for enough snow to fall to take Parker out and drag him around the yard in his sled and to build a snowman. Hopefully we will have a white Christmas. Happy Holidays to you all!!

Ginger bread house

Last week Parker and I went to my mom's house and Parker made his first gingerbread house. Well I guess he helped me and my mom make it. He wasn't as into it as I thought he would be. I guess he is still a little bit too young. But he sure enjoyed eating the candy as we were making it. I have a picture of the house, but when I went to download it from the disk, the disk was blank. Thanks to WalMart. So hopefully I can get it fixed and posted soon.

Thanksgiving

This year I volunteered to cook the turkey for our family dinner. I got a really good recipe from one of my aunts and decided that I could probably figure it out. I got all the stuff ready the night before and had the bird all ready to go in the oven at 6:30 in the morning. I set my alarm the night before so I could get it in the oven on time. Well I woke up about a hundred times worrying that I wouldn't get the turkey in on time and what happens. The power went off at about 4:00 in the morning and didn't come back on until 8:30!!! So needless to say, we ate dinner later than we had planned. It turned out pretty good, and we were all stuffed for the rest of the day. So now I can say that I have cooked a turkey and it turned out good.
I have crossed over the line of craziness!! I got up today at 4:00 in the morning to go to one of the early bird sales on BLACK FRIDAY!! I don't know what I was thinking. I also don't know what I was expecting, but it was so chaotic!!! It is amazing how many people rush thru the doors to find a good bargain. I never thought I would do that. I don't really like to be pushed into people or run over by shopping carts, but there was a great deal on a portable DVD player and Matt and I wanted to get one for Christmas for Parker. So there I am in the midst of a ton of commotion. I got what I went for, barely. There were only about 20 players and 300 people, go figure. After the experience I decided that when going shopping for an early bird special on black Friday, you need to have a team of people working together to get the things you want. One to go to one end, another for the other end and then a gathering place. Next year I will know and Matt will have to get out of bed too!!!

Holidays are coming

This week starts the beginning of that crazy holiday rush. I love the spirit of the holidays and this time of year. I can't wait to get out my Christmas decorations and to enjoy the scenery for a few weeks. I am only nervous about Parker and how he will be with all the deocrations. I sure get tired of telling him to not touch things. Maybe he will be big enough this year to understand. We are going to my parents for Thanksgiving and I am cooking the turkey (I hope it turns out). We will probably go to Matt's parents for a few hours in the evening. I am looking forward to being together as a family and having some wonderful food, like always. Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Holidays

This week will be a busy and fun week. I can already start to feel the holiday rush that happens every year. I am so excited to put up my Christmas decorations, but I am nervous about Parker getting into them. I hope he is old enough now to understand a little bit better. We are staying home for Thanksgiving and I really like to be home for the Holidays. We are planning on stopping by Matt's parents in the evening for a few hours, but nothing long distances. This year Matt will have the entire weekend off and we are excited to spend time together as a family. Hope you all have a happy Thanksgiving.

I don't what I'm doing.

Well I started this blog from inspiration from a friend. I enjoyed reading her blog and seeing what was going on in her family and seeing updated pictures of her family. So I decided that how hard could it be? Well I am definately an amature so you will have to bear with me as I am learning how to do this. I wanted family and friends to be able to see what was going on with our family and to be able to communicate thru the blog. I hope it turns out like I envision it to.

Parker's Birthday

Parker turned 2 yesterday!! I can hardly believe how fast time goes by. I remember being in the hospital like it was yesterday. I can't believe that my little baby is now a little boy. He has changed right before our eyes. Everyday I look at him and think "when did he learn how to do that?" He is always into mischief and keeps me going most of the day. It was fun to celebrate his brithday and to see him actually excited for some of the presents he recieved. Matt and I feel so blessed to have him in our lives. I can't believe I am a mom!!
