Heise

On the 21st-23rd we had our annual Williams reunion. This year it was again at Heise Hot Springs. I don't ever complain when we have it there, it is pretty close and not very expensive and there is a lot to do to keep the kids entertained. We camped 2 nights and had a great time visiting with family. Matt had to mow lawns on the first day and I went by myself with the kids. We were the first ones there and I had out tent put up and bedding all arranged before anyone else even got there. I was pretty proud of myself for pretty much putting up a tent all by myself. Parker did help my a little bit, he is still pretty small and not quite strong enough to do big things, but he was my helper and I was proud of him for the help that he did give me. The kids had been asking for a week when we were going camping so they were extremely excited about getting to Heise. The first day we mostly visited and caught up with what everyone had been up to. The kids all slept great in the tent although I was a little chilly during the night. I had to have Matt bring up sleeping bags so we would be warmer the next night. On Friday we took the kids miniature golfing and swimming. Parker was so excited to go on the water slide with Matt. After one ride he changed his mind. Paige went with Matt on the slide and didn't want to go again. I did convince her to go with me and then she wanted to ride again. So she was the one that ended up liking the water slide. The pool was more expensive than I remembered, but it was the first thing we had really done as a family all summer so I justified spending that much. My mom watched Paxten back at camp so it was nice to just be able to give the other 2 kids some attention. We only swam for about an hour and the kids and I were ready to go. The rest of the weekend was made up of good food and lots of visiting. We had a fun time, as usual, and look forward to the next reunion next supper. We are such a close family and I love the tradition that has been established of having a reunion. We figured out that we have been having regular reunions for at least 20 years!! I can remember going when I was a little girl and now I am able to bring my kids and let them create wonderful memories as well.

Lost Keys?

This morning Matt was frantically searching the house for his truck keys. He was supposed to be at work at 6:30 and it was now 7:00 and he had searched the house for 20 minutes looking for the keys. Matt is always locking the keys inside his truck or the van and he thought that maybe last night when he went to lock everything up he accidentally locked them inside. He made a call to the locksmith and hoped they would be inside. The locksmith arrived and charged $50 for a service call and they didn't find the keys. To have another key made that will start the truck would have been another $130!!! So Matt decided to take another look inside the house. When we came inside to start looking again Parker woke up. Matt asked him if he knew where his keys were. Parker got a smile on his face and said "Yes!" He then went into his bedroom and moved a few toys around and unburied Matt's truck keys. He said, "I took them so that I could see you." I wanted to be so mad at him for costing us $50 and for making Matt an hour late for work(he had called and told them the situation). Matt wanted to cry, he felt so bad for not being around enough that his 5 year old son has to hide his truck keys in order to see him. We had a talk with Parker and explained why that was not a good thing to do. But it did work I guess because he did get to see his dad before work. He is one smart kid....he's a stinker, but he is smart. Lesson to learn, spend more time with your kids, they crave the attention. That is exactly what we are going to do this weekend and we can hardly wait!!

Auntie

Guess what??? I am going to be an Auntie again...this time to my little sister Charyn!! Her and her husband Mike are expecting their first in November. Today she found out that she is having a boy. We are all so excited for her. Paige will be a little out numbered with all the boys around, hopefully one of us will get another girl in the mix. I can't wait to start getting supplies for her and I can't wait to meet my new nephew in a few months!

5 months

 

This cute little thing is now five months old!! He is just over 13 lbs and is really starting to let his personality show.
He can sit up all by himself for a few seconds, just a little more practice and he will have it down.

He is starting to show interest in picking up toys and bright colored objects.

He loves to eat and tries to grab things off my plate when I am eating something.

He randomly laughs at things you wouldn't think are funny, so the kids and I are always trying to get a good laugh out of him.

He is almost always chewing/sucking on his hands and occasionally get a hold of his feet and gets them to his mouth.

He LOVES, LOVES, LOVES his mommy. Whenever someone else is holding him, he starts crying. The second I take him he stops and then smiles at the other person, like hahaha I just got what I wanted.

He can almost roll over from his belly to his back.

He loves to be talked to and almost always gives a huge smile to the person talking to him.

He still doesn't take good naps, unless I am holding him

He is such a great baby and we all love him so much! Can't believe he is growing up so fast. Where is the time going?

This Never Happens

 

Something must be wrong at our house, because this never happens!! My kids are not nappers and haven't ever been nappers, even when they were babies. So for both of them to fall asleep, at the same time is unheard of. I know that Parker didn't feel well, in fact he threw up after I woke him up for dinner this day. I was amazed that this happened and had to take a picture so that I would remember this ocassion. Although, they were both grumpy when they woke up and didn't go to bed until 11:00 that night, so I wouln't say it was completely a good thing. But they both must have worn themselves out and needed a recharge. Too bad I couln't have gotten a nap in as well!

4th of July

 

For the 4th the boys, and Charyn went early in the morning golfing and then Mom, Paxten, Paige and I met them in Idaho Falls and we went to Five Guys Burgers and got burgers and fries to go. We went to a park and have a little picnic in the shade and visited. Paige wasn't feeling well all of the sudden and ended up throwing up a few times, I think she had a little stomach bug, that Parker got a few days later. So Paige wasn't feeling like herself during the picture taking. I am lucky that Matt will appease my wishes to take lots of pictures and that he is willing to be in them. Charyn had a hard time convincing Mike to be in a family picture and my dad doesn't like to do pictures either. So I am glad that Matt likes (or will at least he pretends to) to be in the pictures. We had a fun time being together and celebrating this wonderful day.

Later that night we had a BBQ at my parent's house. My Grandpa and Grandma Williams came into town along with my cousin Lauren and her husband Rhett and their two boys. We had a fun time with them eating and lighting fireworks. That was Parker's favorite part about the day. All day long he asked when we were going to light the fireworks. We finally gave in about 8:00 and started doing them, it was still light outside, but I couldn't take him asking me anymore. He makes me a little nervous because he is such a pyro. He isn't the least bit scared or nervous around fire. I am sure going to have to watch that boy carefully and keep the matches locked away. He had a blast watching the fireworks and I am sure that was the funnest thing he did all day! Paige fell asleep during the show, so I know she still wasn't feeling well. But we had a good time and enjoyed being able to celebrate the holiday together!

The Zoo

 

Matt finally had a day completely off on the 2nd and we decided to do something fun with the kids. So we had a picnic lunch at the park and then went to the zoo. It was a really hot day and because of that a lot of the animals were hiding in the shade and weren't out playing. So the kids were bummed about not being able to see all the animals. It was also so hot that it got to the point that Paige was whining and asking if we could go now. Parker just wanted to see the alligator and kept asking when we were going to see that, he could have cared less about any other animal. So it was a long couple of hours trying to convince them to have fun and to quit whining. But we had a fun time being together and spending time as a family.

Silly Kids

 

My parents got back from Denver last week and upon return from their trip they surprised the kids with all sorts of gadgets from the convention. One of which were these sill glasses. Meet George and Peggy. When the kids put on these glasses Parker and Paige disappear and George and Peggy take their place. I thought these were hilarious and that the kids looked so goofy in them. Every time one of the kids put these on I couldn't help but smile or laugh. I love these kids!!

We Cut It

 

I finally did it, I was hesitant because I didn't want to change my little baby to a little boy so soon. It was time though, the back of his hair had become quite the ponytail, almost 3 inches long. He was starting to have either a rat tail or a biker pony tail, neither of which I wanted him to have. So one morning, July 1st, I sat him in his Bumbo chair and cut it all off. As soon as I cut the back I instantly thought he looked better. Then I buzzed the top and that instantly changed him. But I still think he looks like a baby, just a little more grown up. It looks so much better and has to be cooler for him during the summer. I think he liked it too!
