Paxten's Naps

Paxten has been a horrible napper lately. He just doesn’t want to miss all the fun summer action and just fights taking a nap like nothing else. Some days I take a drive with him just to get him to fall asleep for a little while. Today was no exception and he fought taking a nap all afternoon. Well when it came time for dinner and he had to sit in his chair for a little while and not move, the nap won. Before I knew it I looked over at him and he was sound asleep with his head bobbing up and down. I don’t think this is the most comfortable place to take a nap, but wherever he can get one I will take it. He ended up sleeping for about an hour in his high chair. Silly little boy!! I can’t believe he is almost 18 months old. He is growing up quickly and thinks he is all grown up and loves to do things all by himself, even things he can’t quite do on his own, he still tries. He is constantly trying to keep up with Paige and Parker and doesn’t like to miss out on anything. He has been sleeping in his own bed all night long for about a week now and is doing really well. I am very excited to have my bed back to just Matt and I. Now if I can just keep him in there!

Family Reunion

We had our annual Williams reunion at Heise this year at the beginning of July and had such a fun time. I love that we still are carrying on this tradition and that we all love to get together and enjoy on another's company. I love that my cousin's kids and my kids get to know each other and look forward to seeing each other again. It is such a wonderful blessing to have such a close and loving family. We had a great time visiting and catching up with each other, swimming, golfing, miniature golfing, eating, and camping. We love going to Heise and my kids had looked forward to going for weeks. They all had a wonderful time and I am happy to report that we didn't loose any kids this year, and we didn't have any injuries either, so it was a great year!! Parker is quite the hunter, last year he caught a mole running on the ground and this year he couaght a frog in the grass. That boy is ALL BOY and love to be in nature and getting dirty. He was in HEAVEN!!! I am glad he likes to be outdoors and uses his imagination and some of that energy he has!! We look forward to the reunion each year, and miss those that aren't able to attend. Craft Day

While Matt's cousin Summer is here we (all the girls) wanted to get together and have a craft day. So last Wednesday we met at Grandma C's and did some projects. Some made pillow cases, t-shirt dresses, headbands and these fun kids mats. Tara, Kerry, and I mostly worked on the kids mats to get ready to take to Disneyland. They are a mat, made out of fabric that folds into thirds and holds 3 cars. It rolls up and ties for east storage. We thought these would be perfect for the kids while on the airplane and to play with in the hotel room. So the ones we did are made out of Cars material and they have 3 pockets to fit 3 Cars cars in. We are going to get together tomorrow to make the girl one that will be princess fabric to hold little princess dolls. They turned out so cute and I know that Paxten and Parker with love them! Yay for craft days!! and Yay for getting projects accomplished!

Ross Park

We love the swim park that is pretty close to us and unfortunately I haven't taken the kids for a few years, I have been hesitant to take 3 kids by myelf, and the summer is a really busy time for Matt, so it is almost impossible for him to go with us. Well Matt's cousin Summer is here visiting from Texas and we all decided it would be fun to go to Ross park with the kids and swim and play. I decided it would be easier with the help of Grandma Kerry and Aunt Tara. So we went and had such a great time! The kids all absolutely loved it and swam like little fish, the didn't hesitate in the water at all, so I guess the lessons are helping in the that aspect of swimming. We stayed for almost 4 1/2 hours and the time flew by. The kids were worn out by the time we left, but immediately wanted to know when we could go back. It was a great day to spend with the Keller side of the family!

Family Bikes

Matt and I decided to invest in some bikes for ourselves to that we could go on family bike rides together. One Saturday a few weekends ago, when Matt had the day off, we went to Idaho Falls and got ourselves some bikes. We also bought one of those seats that hooks on to a bike so that Paxten could ride with us. After over an hour of trying to put that seat together and attach it, we finally finished. Luckily Paxten loves to go on rides and has loved the seat, so it made all that hard work worth it. We are enjoying going on family rides together in the evening when it cools off and love the fact that we are getting some exercise in as well. Good investment!!

Permission Slip

A couple of Sundays ago, I was helping Paige get dressed for church and put a slip on her under her dress. A few minutes later, when we were doing her hair, she lifted up dress so that he slip was showing and asked me, "Mom, is this my permission slip?" She was totally serious, and I busted up laughing!! It was so funny and I couldn't stop laughing, which got her laughing too. I then explained to her that it was just called a slip and then told her what a permission slip was. It was one of those times when I think, "kids, are so funny!" I hope I never forget that story and how funny it was. Paige is my comic relief and is always saying funny stuff like that!

Swim Lessons

I decided it was about time for the kids to start swim lessons. I haven't really been putting it off, I just kept forgetting to call and get them registered. Well I finally got aroung to it and there were two sessions left for the summer, so we signed Parker and Paige up. They were super excited and asked me daily when they would be starting. Finally the day came and they were so happy. They both started out in level 1 and Parker moved up to level 2 on the first day because he could put his head fully under water for so long. He moved up to a class that had 10 other kids and was quite large. The first couple of days I was worried that he wasn't learning anything because it didn't seem like he was paying attenetion and the teachers, who are teenagers, weren't helping him out as much as the could have. But it is getting better, I am not sure he will 100% pass this level and may be in it one more time, which I would rather have him know the skills and then advance rather than advance just because. So we are just finishing up the second week and we will see how he does. Paige loves being in the water and just seems to play and learn to get comfortable with her face getting wet. She has gone off the diving board several times and showed absolutely no hesitation about it. She cried last Friday when there weren't any lessons because she wanted to go so bad. So she is absolutley loving it. I guess, them having a good time and learning something along the way is totally worth the money spent on the lessons!

Mom His Head is Stuck

Mom Paxten's head is stuck....those were the words that Paige said to me a few weeks ago while I was in the shower. Paxten had gotten one of his feet stuck in the kitchen chair the night before and he was freaking out about it, but it was easily freed. So I thought that this was the same situation. I yelled for Parker to try and get it out so I didn't have to get out of the shower. He came back in and said no mom it is really stuck in the computer chair. So I hurried and got out of the shower and found Paxten screaming his head off and trying to pull his head out by himself without success. I tried a few times and realized that is wasn't going to slip right out. I grabbed some oil and tried to loosen his head with the oil, and that didn't work either, it just made a big mess! Meanwhile Paxten is crying and crying and there isn't much I can do to console him. I was just trying to hold him and trying to stay calm and let him know it was going to be alright. I even tried to push him the rest of the way through, but it was too tight on his chest and I didn't want to break one of his ribs. So I called Matt, who was out doing lawn work and told him the situation. He was working with his dad that day, so they both hurried in and Matt ended up having to saw one of the chair rungs off to get him out. After about 45 minutes he was free and very tired from crying that long. I felt so bad for the little guy, hopefully he learned his lesson not to put his head where it doesn't belong!! July 4th Celebrations

On the July 4th the kids and I were kinda just on our own, since Matt was working. The Keller family was planning a get together for most of the day and we decided to join in on their breakfast part of the day. We had omlets, that you cook in a freezer bag and boil over the camp stove, pancakes, fruit, and sausage. It was delicious, as always!! We never go to a Keller function and leave still hungry or dis-satisfied with what was served. There is always something yummy to eat! We had a fun time visiting and hanging out with them for a few hours. After we left we came home and started packing for our Williams family reunion that was starting the next day. The kids played outside with the nesighbors kids and played in the pool. I honestly don't remember what we ended up doing for dinner that night, but we did watch fireworks with my parents and then watched the Blackfoot fireworks from our house. We had a good day, it was very very hot but we had a fun time just relaxing and spending time together.

July 2nd??

Matt drew the short straw and had to work a double on the 4th of July this year. Bummer! So we decided that we would do our little 4th of July celebration on the 2nd, when Matt was home. Parker was so excited to do fireworks this year, in fact I thought he was a little too excited about fire and the fireworks! I decided to wait and buy fireworks right before we were going to do them, so they wouldn't be a temptation to Parker, he could hardly stand waiting the few hours between when I bought them and when we were going to light them. I ended up spending about $50 and got a pretty good variety of fireworks for our little family. The kids loved the snaps and sparklers. Even Paxten was able to get the snaps to pop and he did do a few sparklers with the help of me and Matt. Parker's favorite are the little bombs that snap, crackle, and pop. I love the spinning flowers and the last one that we watched that was called a fish bowl. Anyways we waited as long as Parker would let us, about 9:00 before we started lighting them. It was still light outside. The kids had a great time and loved every second of watching the fireworks. They sure don't last as long as you think they will and $50 didn't seem to go that far once we were done, but I refuse to spend any more than that!!

Family Pictures 2012

We got our family pictures back the other day from the phoographer and I am super excited about them. I think they turned out pretty good for having to get 11 people to look at the camera at the same time. The weather was beautiful and I think we had a good choice in clothing colors. I love my little family as well as my parents and my sister's family!!
