I took pictures of Paxten with the old camera and then the new camera in the same clothes just to compare. The new camera takes a more crisp pictures and can get closer without getting blurry. Also it takes the picture faster, so if the subject moves it can capture the picture instead of being a blurry mess. This is my new fun toy and I am loving trying all it can do out.

Mini Photo Session

We had a little photo session at our house the other day, trying out the new camera. I think it is going to be so nice! The kids love having their pictures taken and to see themselves on the computer. And my theory is...never too many pictures, right!

New Camera!!

Matt and I went and purchase a new camera the other day and I have loved playing with it taking pictures. We went with the Canon Rebel T2i. There is a lot of buttons on it so I am sure it will take me a while to learn all that it can do. But already I can tell a difference in the quality of the pictures. I am really excited to have nice pictures of the kids from no on.

Paxten's Blessing

We blessed Paxten on Sunday, March 27, and it was a wonderful day. He was blessed by his father. Matt gave him such a wonderful blessing. So now he is official I guess. Matt and were able to do a lot of the preparation for the dinner the night before. So the day of the blessing wasn't too chaotic. Thank goodness for 11 o'clock church. That worked out so well for us. My mom made the cutest little blessing outfit for Paxten (she has made each of the kids an outfit) and my Grandma Sharon made a crochet blanket for him too. (Each of the kids has one of these as well, I am all about sentimental items!) Paxten looked so adorable in his little white outfit. I took about 50 pictures of him!

We had a nice lunch after the blessing at our house. We served BBQ chicken sandwiches, salads, chips and dessert. It was soooo good. And thanks to a great family everyone pitched in and helped bring something.

Anniversary

Matt and I celebrated our 7 year anniversary last Saturday, the 26th. WOW!! I can't believe it has been 7 years, it has gone by so fast!! We didn't do anything too special, just enjoyed a dinner out without the kids. It was nice to have a conversation with each other and not be interrupted by kids or having to tell the kids to sit down, eat your dinner. It was great. Then we came home and watched a chick flick. I couldn't ask for more. I am so lucky to have such a wonderful and supportive husband. I am so glad that we met and that we both were committed to making the 2 year mission gap a time for us to better get to know each other. And that when he returned home that we better knew each other and loved each other more. I am so grateful for the hard worker he is and all that he does to provide for us each and every day. I am so blessed that we have been given the opportunity to raise 3 sweet spirits and to be their parents. Matt is such a wonderful father and the kids just love spending time with their daddy. I look forward to 7 more wonderful years filled with great memories!!

St. Patrick's Day

I wanted to do something fun for the kids on St. Patrick's day, so we had a special breakfast. Green pancakes and green milk and sausage links. No the sausage wasn't green. Paige wasn't too sure of the whole thing and wouldn't drink the milk. But they both liked the pancakes and being able to wear something green so they wouldn't get pinched.

Question?

Matt and I have been looking into getting a new camera. Something that takes really good pictures. The camera we have now does ok, but is hard to focus with and almost always takes a blurry picture. I want something better to capture the memories of my kids. Anyone have any suggetions on what we should get?

Adjusting

Matt is officially back to work. Can I just say that 5 weeks went by so fast!! I for sure thought I would be so ready for him to go back after 2 weeks, and before I knew it it had been 5 weeks. I didn't realize how much I had become dependant on him to have around the house. He would get the older kids to bed and let me sleep whenever Paxten fell asleep, sometimes long before the other kids were ready for bed. He would also get up with them in the middle of the night (why they can't sleep through the night is beyond me!) and he would let me sleep in until 9:30 or 10:00 and entertain the other kids. It was really nice. Now that he is back to work and needs his sleep as much as the rest of us, the mornings around here are a little more hectic. I now have to get up when the other kids are up to get them dressed and fed breakfast. Which makes my nights seem extremely short. I can't even count the times I am up during the night feeding and holding the little guy. Mornings for sure come way to quickly. Last night we had 5 people in our bed!??? What?? Why the **** can't my kids sleep in their own bed?? They weren't in there all night, Parker came in about 3 because he was scared and Paige came in about 5, but still, our bed isn't that big!! Today Matt is working a double shift, that means the kids will not see him until tomorrow. So I am trying to keep all the kids entertained and trying to keep the house from becoming a disaster zone. It is quite the challenge, but I did get a shower in today, which is more than I got yesterday. The biggest challenge will be tonight when I will have to get all three kids to bed...by myself!! It is going to be a difficult. I have a feeling someone will be crying....it might be me.

1 Month Old

I am a little behind on this particular post, but I still wanted to document this occasion. I can't believe that little my newest baby is already 1 month old. This last month has flown by, I can hardly believe it. I think with each kid time seems to be moving faster and faster. Paxten has been a pretty good little boy. He can have his moments when he is fussy, mostly at night, but for the most part is pretty good. He loves to be held, I am trying to get him used to a swing or bouncer seat so that I can get a few things done during the day. He loves to be talked to and is starting to be able to focus on objects right in front of him. He is very loved by his big brother and sister and sometimes I have to tell them to leave him alone. Both Parker and Paige love to hold him. Paige tells me "ahhh he so cutie" and reminds me that he was just in my belly. Parker talks to him and says, "it's okay, daddy's here" It is pretty funny to hear. We have to to say no, you are his brother. But her hears Matt say that and just ends up repeating it. Kids are pretty funny. Tomorrow Matt starts back to work, man that 5 weeks went by fast!! So tomorrow will be the first day I will be alone with all the kids by myself. It should be interesting. On top of that, Parker had preschool at 9:00 in the morning, so I will have to get all the kids loaded into the car to get him there on time. It will be an adventure. I am looking forward to getting back into a routine and hoping Paxten will get better adjusted into his own routine.

I wanted to see who Paxten looks like. Some pictures I think he looks a lot like Parker and others he looks like Paige. Then at times I think he is his own person. It will be interesting to see what/who he looks like as he gets bigger

Paxten's Newborn Pictures

I got the picture back from the photographer last week and tried a few times to upload them with no success. So here I am trying again. There are so many cute pictures that I can't really pick a favorite. But I would love to hear what one you love the most!

Pros & Cons

I am slowly trying to adjust to lack of sleep and the routine of a newborn baby. It is taking a toll on me, but I wouldn't trade it. I love having Paxten in our home, he is such a sweet and mellow baby. (Thank goodness) he is very calm and doesn't cry a lot and I am loving that. On the other hand I have decided that there are pros and cons to breastfeeding.
The Pros:
1. It is FREE!! Who doesn't love free!
2. It is always with you wherever you go, no packing bottles and formula
3. It is always the right temperature
4. I have a special bond with the little man
5. He wants me!! I have something he wants, that only I can satisfy!
6. It has so many health benefits!
7. Breast milk doesn't produce diaper stains!

The Cons:
1. I am getting no Sleep at night!
2. He only wants me...no one else can feed him.
3. I feel like a human pacifier!
4. My other kids keep telling me he wants "mommy milk," who else are they going to share this information with?

I guess the pros are greater than the cons! I will just have to keep dealing with it and hope he develops more of a routine in the next little bit! Either way I still love having a newborn, someone that wants to snuggle with me!
