Cabin fever

So I have this problem, I stay home with the kids all week long (Which I am not complaining about) and ususally if I get out of the house it is to play outside for a little while or running to the grocery store with the kids in tow. Matt works all week long and is busy and gone for most of the week. So here is the problem... by Friday I want to get out of the house and do something and Matt just wants to stay home and relax. We are not quite on the same page. Any suggestions?? Maybe something that we can do together as a family, but not something overwhelming or really expensive (Budget is tight). I would love to hear from any of you!!

Erika I know how you feel!! We are really sad, the two of us just live 2 blocks away and we could help each other so much and we don't even do it. We need to start going on walks or having play dates for us and the kids. I am not sure what to do about the cabin fever other than maybe we need to start scheduling a time for us moms with out the kids or husbands and go for a walk or something just so we can get out, even if it is just 30 min a couple of days a week. I am always around if you need to talk or have a chance and need to get out just let me know. I have cut back on what I work so I am a little easier to schedule around. I get the feeling that you are feeling the same way I am about a lot of things. I Love you, and you are a great mom, I hope you know that. Just call me or email me or something I am here!!

For date night...start a babysitting swap. We are looking forward to the fall so we can start one again. We had four couples in the ward (each with 1 or 2 kids) and we took turns. We babysat the first Saturday of the month from 6 to 8 and then we had date nights for the next three. It was way worth it to help our budget. It's a lot of kids that one week, but three weeks without is heavenly. We went to the park, or even just grocery shopping. You could play Frisbee or walk around Jensen's Grove.

We also bought guitar hero. We play it together all the time. It is kind of a break for us. I am actually playing a video game. It's not very fancy, but we do it together. We have also become best friends with Redbox...$1 DVD rentals are great. Of course, I am very lucky that Dan will watch chick flicks with me.

We also decided we need to start doing things as a family. We headed up the canyon not far from here (we are lucky to have an area like this) and took the boys on little hikes. They also LOVE to swim. Setting up a sprinkler would make them happy. They even love things like blowing bubbles outside on the grass. It is almost a treat for them, or so it seems.

Small Fry has an earlier bed time than Pitcher Guy so we can spend a little bit of time with just him. Small Fry is usually in bed by 7:30 and then we spend the next half hour reading books or playing games with Pitcher Guy until he goes to bed. After that it is our time.

Anyway, I hope this helps. Let me know what you end up doing or any ideas you have. I am always interested in more too. Good luck!
