New Boys Room

Since we had out water problems back in May, I decided that it would be a good time to repaint some of the house, especially walls that will soon have crown molding on them. I have been dragging my feet about doing it and trying to motivate myself to do it for the last month. I really dont like painting. Well the kids (Parker and Paige) were at Claire and Avery's house for a sleepover last weekend and I got the motivation to do some painting. I went to the store, got the paint and supplies and got Parker and Paxten's room ready to paint. As soon as I got Paxten to sleep I went to work on the room and made good progress. Matt had worked a double shift that day and when he got home he helped me by rolling the walls as I was doing the edges and corners. About halfway into the can of paint Matt noticed that there was a blob of blue that wasn't mixed, not good!! He mixed it with the rest of the paint and we finished painting the room, hoping that it wouldn't be too much of a difference. After staying up until 2:30 a.m. We went to bed. When I woke up the next morning and looked at the walls I was so mad, all that time and hard work and you can visibly see the difference in the paint around the edges and the middle!! That paint should have been mixed very well from just coming from the store. The guy that helped me in the paint section is a complete idiot and I am not sure why he still has a job. I have had several problems with him in past times at the store and when I saw it was him working in the paint section that night I almost asked for someone different because of how much I don't like this guy. He has no communications skills, he won't look at you when you are talking, which is horrible customer servie and he doesn't know what he is doing most of the time. Anyways, I was very mad about the paint issue. Matt took the can of paint back, which was empty, and the store gave us our money back. Which we used to buy another can of paint! So I spent the next day re-painting the entire room because I wasn't sure what color this one was going to be. I finally got it done and got the stripes painted on and Parker loves the new room, so I guess it was all worth it for him to love it. On the other hand, that did not motivate me to to the kitchen and hallway as well. I do love how a room smells and feels, and looks after a fresh coat of paint. It makes my other walls feel old and dingy. So maybe that will be my motivation to finish the rest of the painting....let's hope!
